Commitment to Physical Fitness
Here are some of our performers in 2019-2020.
Sport Climbing
VVS boasts of an excellent Sports Climbing facility for Speed climbing, Lead Climbing, and Bouldering. Expert training has enabled our students to win laurels at National levels and compete in international competitions.
Arnav Khanzode at the age of 11 represented India at the Asia Championships in Beijing, China.
Soha Diwan participated in Asian and World Youth Competitions.
Nirmayee Neve won a silver medal at National Championships.
Mountaineering
Anand Mali, our PE Coach, is a highly experienced mountaineer who has been on many expeditions on the highest Himalayan peaks and climbed Mt. Everest in 2013. Sahil Joshi, Romir Mukherjee, and other students scaled Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa and Mt. Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe under Anand’s guidance.
Some of our students attend courses in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports, Manali (ABVIMAS).
The spirit of adventure
Vidya Valley and Giripremi, a prominent mountaineering club, are fostering a spirit of adventure in our students. by training them in trekking and mountaineering.
Taekwondo
Trained and coached from Standard 1, our students participate in National and International Competitions.
Tanishqa Chopade competed at the Asian Cadet Championships 2019 in Amman, Jordan. and the World Cadet Taekwondo Championships at Tashkent Uzbekistan.
Football
Arsh Bagwan represented Maharashtra in The All India Junior Football Tournament held in Kolkata.
Athletics
Adithya Hari was a Silver Medallist in 100 Metres at the National Championships.
Aryan Kadam represented Maharashtra in the CISCE National Championship.
Roller Skating
Every student learns to skate from the age of 4 to develop coordination and balance and to overcome fear.
Durga Mirajkar continues to win Gold, Silver, Bronze medals at State Championships. She represented Maharashtra in the CISCE National Championships.
Swimming
10-year-old Eeshan Agarwal won Gold Medals in 50m Freestyle, 50m Breaststroke and 50m Backstroke at the Maharashtra State Paralympic Swimming Championships 2019.
Aratrika Biswas, representing Maharashtra, won a Bronze Medal at the Swimming National Championships.
Badminton
Tara Shah has been the under 14 and under 17 National Champion. She represented India at International Competitions in Myanmar.
Tennis
Jay Dixit was a member of the Maharashtra under 17 Tennis Boys Team which won a Gold Medal at the CISCE National Championships.
Table Tennis
Maitreyi Gangal represented Maharashtra Under 14 at the Zonal and State ICSE Tournament in Bangalore.
Shooting
Maithili Kakad won a Bronze Medal at the 65th Maharashtra State Shooting Camp in Kolhapur.
